Launched in 2022, the SweetLaces concept was inspired by artist Silni’s love of color work, sneaker customization and fashion.

In August 2020, Silni customized a collection of Jordan 1 sneakers featuring NBA basketball teams, and for aesthetic reasons decided to dye the shoe laces in a gradient of colors. This was the beginning of the SweetLaces story and project.

Drawing on his painting experience, he defined a palette of colors common to various brands. Using a Pantone color chart and comparing with his extensive sneaker collection, he determined the colors that would make up the 65-shade collection.

The development of the Sweetlaces brand also represents Silni’s desire to make his work and creations accessible to a wider audience. Offering laces at an affordable price has enabled him to free himself from the image of inaccessibility inherent in the world of luxury and to get closer to his community.
